The under 15A's took on Shillelagh today at Whitegates. The first half ended 0-0 with the Shillelagh keeper in great form, pulling off several top class saves with Rovers also being denied by the crossbar. In the second half, Rovers pushed harder and got their rewards when Wolsey Sloan Kelly was quick to convert a cross from Giorgio Morgillo-Fidyk to make it 1-0. The second came soon after from Cillian Czwalina with a great header after an excellent delivery from Sam Goodbody. Rovers kept control of the possession and got a third and fourth from two strikes from outside the box from first Darragh Cullen and then Sean O'Brien. Close to the end of the match, Rovers scored their fifth goal with James Cummins tapping in a cross from Cathal Byrne to complete the scoring and record an excellent 5-0 victory. Big thanks to Shillelagh for the game on a miserable morning for football.
