Our under 12C's welcomed St Anthonys C to Whitegates today for a lunch time kick off. Both teams started strong but it was Rovers who broke the deadlock after 15 minutes, when a great kick out from Davey Driver opened up the St Anthonys backline for Billy Nolan to get on the end of to fire home to continue his impressive goalscoring form with his fourth goal in three games. For the rest of the game, both teams proved strong in midfield and defence, cancelling each other out and limiting each others chances. In the final minutes Cian McCoy was very unlucky not to double the Rovers lead when he connected well with a right footed volley from a corner only to see the keeper make a save on the line. Fantastic effort from all of our players today to get their first points of the season. Thanks to St. Anthonys for a great game of football played in great spirit 👍⚽️
