Our under 12B's had an early start this morning, with a 10am kick off away to Coolboy Rangers. It took a while for our guys to get going and before they knew it they found themselves 3-0 down thanks to two very unfortunate deflected goals and an admittedly world class free kick from the opposition. There was nothing Alex Doyle in goal could do about any of the goals.
Rovers started to grow more and more into the game with Nathan Harris and JD Delahunt linking up very well down the left and causing problems for the Coolboy defence.

Rovers were now piling on the pressure in search of a goal but got hit on the break again and were very unlucky to go in at half time 4-0 down.

This really was a game of two halves, Rovers flew into the second half, winning their duels all over the pitch and they were finally rewarded when Odhran Convery chased down a backpass to get one back. A second soon followed with JD Delahunt rounding off a lovely team move, 4-2 and Rovers really had the bit between their teeth. They completely dominated the second half and were very unlucky on a few occasions not to get a third. Alex Doyle was called into action following a good Coolboy move and produced a world class finger tip save to keep Rovers in the game, when the ball looked destined for the top corner. They pressed and pressed but couldn't find that third goal.

Rovers showed great character to win the second half and they all left with their heads held high and we will carry the positivity of that second half performance into the rest of the season.
Thanks to Coolboy for a great game that was played in the best of spirits.
Also a massive thanks to our supporters and parents who made the early morning trip to Coolboy to support the team.
