Our U13B's returned to winning ways this week with an impressive 4-0 victory on the road against Avonmore. The first half saw both teams creating chances in a tightly contested match, with strong defensive displays on a fantastic morning for football. Seb Gould broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, sending Rovers 1-0 up at the halftime break. The second half belonged entirely to Rovers, and in the 9th minute, Alex Philippon capitalised on a rebound from Casey Brennen's shot to secure a 2-0 lead. The Rovers' defence, led by goalkeeper Matthew Gough and defenders Michael Carroll and captain Charlie Lawlor, thwarted Avonmore's attempts throughout the game. Eoghan Quinn extended the lead to 3-0 in the 24th minute with a powerful right-footed shot into the top corner. Quinn then set up Lukas Araminas, who calmly sidefooted into an empty net, sealing a 4-0 victory. Despite Avonmore's strong efforts, the Man of the Match award went to Michael Carroll for his outstanding performance in an overall great team effort.
