Our WDFL C team proudly sponsored by Core Homes Ltd travelled down to Lamberton to face Arklow Town this morning. The lads were without a win so far this season and needed to get some points on the board.

Rovers dominated from the start and after 20 minutes Fionn Matthews played in Gary O' Connor who beat his man and cooly slotted the ball into the net to give Rovers the lead. Rovers continued to be on top for the rest of half which ended at 1-0.

In the second half the game became more even and Arklow equalised midway through the second half with a nice finish to make it 1-1. Rovers never dropped the heads and continued to create chances, but the Arklow goalkeeper was on top form. With 10 minutes to play, Fionn Matthews again played a wonderful ball into Euan Snell, who buried to the ball past the keeper to make it 2-1 and that's how the game ended.

A great performance from everyone on the team to get the first win of the season and Rovers will look to continue this form against Carnew next week.
