Our under 14A's moved into the quarter finals of the South Leinster Region area of the SFAI cup with an excellent 4-1 win over Athy Town today. It was an even game in the first few minutes then Rovers started to move the ball well and they created a couple of good chances but were unlucky not to score. On 25 minutes Rovers got a deserved lead with a screamer from Tom Donnellan who found the top corner from outside the box. Right before half time Rovers doubled the lead with a Sean O'Brien header from a well taken corner by Giorgio Morgillo-Fidyk. Giorgio then found the third goal early in the second half, finishing off a great assist from Cathal Byrne. Fifteen minutes into the second half Rovers scored again with Cillian Czwalina converting a lovely through ball in by Rhys Behan. The lads then relaxed a bit and Athy scored one but Rovers regained concentration and saw out the game safely.
