In the final fixture of the season, our U12B team secured a thrilling 2-1 victory away against Newtown at the Community Grounds. The first half showcased Rovers' defensive prowess, with goalkeeper Matthew Gough and MOTM Charlie Lawlor at center half delivering standout performances, allowing the team to reach halftime deadlocked at 0-0 despite playing uphill.

Anticipating an advantage playing downhill on the heavy pitch in the second half, Rovers asserted control from the start. However, they faced an early setback as Newtown capitalised on a breakaway down the right, with their center forward finishing clinically to take a 1-0 lead. Undeterred, Rovers responded three minutes later when Daniel Morrissey found the net, concluding a well-crafted move to level the score at 1-1.

Rovers pressed for the lead, with Casey Brennan and Eoghan Quinn both narrowly missing opportunities to convert down the right flank. As the game seemed destined to end in a 1-1 draw, Chris Delahunt's dynamic run and shot in the 58th minute tested the Newtown keeper, and Casey Brennan seized the opportunity with a sublime right-footed drive into the top of the Newtown net, securing a thrilling 2-1 victory for Rovers.

The team extends gratitude to Newtown for a highly competitive match, capping off the U12B season with a memorable away win.
