In cold and windy conditions at Ryder's Field, the U12C team took on a strong Glencormac side. Rovers showed their intent from the start, battling for every ball. Rovers could have taken the lead on a number of occasions in the half but couldn't find the target. Glencormac looked dangerous in attack but the Rovers defence limited them to half chances. Just before the break, Rovers were pushing for the opening goal but Glencormac went on the counter attack. The Rovers defence thought they had played the striker offside, but it wasn't given and he duly slotted past the Wicklow keeper Loukas Karamalis. Almost immediately from the kick off, Glencormac scored their second goal. Again hit on the counter, the Glencormac attack crowded out the Rovers defenders and poked the ball into the corner past Karamalis. The second half started in the same fashion, Glencormac soaking up the Rovers pressure and counter attacking. They got their third goal following fine play from their midfielders, before a shot was dispatched past the blameless Wicklow keeper. Karamalis who kept Glencormac at bay with a number of top class saves during the game. Rovers continued to put in the effort and eventually got a deserved goal through Kyrylo Kliuchnyk, who had been a handful all game. Rovers went in search of a second goal. Cayden O'Malley and Federico Caruso carved out a number of chances for their team but the goal just wouldn't come, and it finished 3-1. Thanks to Glencormac for a good game.
