Our U12A's renewed their rivalry with a strong Aughrim Rangers at Whitegates this afternoon, coming away with an excellent 2-0 win, the opening ten minutes were a tight affair with neither side giving up much until the 12th minute. Rovers won a corner on the left after good work from Freddie Kavangh, Hank Murmane swung in a fast ball to the back post where Daniel Clarke was on hand to volley home into the roof of the net to give the home side a deserved lead. Rovers were on top at this stage and struck again in the 21st minute through a spectacular effort from centre back Will Carey. The score remained the same till half time, the second half was a very tight affair with the Rovers defence and midfield putting in a solid performance and keeping Aughrim from creating any notable chances, another fine win for this team and thanks to Aughrim for the game.
