Our U12A's entertained Coolboy Rangers at Whitegates this Saturday lunch time. They found the Coolboy keeper in great form in the first half of the game until Hank Murnane cooly turned his defender to slot a left footed effort into the bottom right hand corner of the net. With only the slimiest of margins separating the sides at half time, it was Rovers who started the second half better and were awarded an early penalty when Simon Lynch was taken down in the box with Murnane stepping up to slot home Rovers second. Mikie O'Neill was next on the scoreboard when he found the net after Coolboy failed to clear their lines. A lovely move down the right saw O'Neill break through again minutes later, only to have his shot parried by the keeper into the path of the on rushing Daniel Clarke who put Rovers four to the good. O'Neill then finished the scoring in the final minutes to make it 5-0 at full time. Rovers have Will Carey, Jack Collins and James Carroll to thank for their solid performances to keep the Coolboy front line at bay. A huge thanks to Coolboy for the game and the very best of luck for the rest of the season.
