The under 14B's were at home to Enniskerry in the league today, Rovers were missing 8 players for the game, but the rest of the squad put in a great effort, from the first 11 to the subs. Rovers held Enniskerry for the first twenty minutes but a few mistakes let the away team in to score a few goals. To the lads credit kept going with David Quinn hitting the crossbar with a free kick and then Steven Doyle coming close with two chances with both efforts going just wide of the target. Rovers got caught on the break and let Enniskerry in to score again. The lads went in at halftime 7-0 down. Rovers came out in the second half and put in a strong performance with Cian Lynch and Turlough Byrne coming close within the first few minutes. The lads kept going keeping Enniskerry at bay, then up popped James Cummins to score for Rovers getting on the end of a great ball in from David Quinn. Straight from the tip Rovers won the ball back and Cian Lynch put the ball through to Davin Kelly who got a shot off but the keeper made a great save. It was a great team performance today, players who stood out on the day were Micheal Kennedy, Jack Barry, Ethan Doyle, Fionn Lang and Conor Mcveigh. Well done on a great game today lads.
