It was a miserable night for football at a dark wet Rocky Road tonight for our under 13A's premier shield semi final against Newtown Juniors. These two teams always produce close tight encounters but tonight Rovers were in clinical form in front of goal to run out comfortable winners to buck the trend of recent tussles. Kale Conyard was particularly lethal in front of goal with a superb hat-trick. Daniel Connolly fired in a brace with David McCormack, Ben O'Leary and Tommy Morrissey all finding the net. To Newtown's credit they kept plugging away right up to the final whistle. A special mention to the Newtown keeper who pulled off a handful of excellent saves. Rovers put in a fantastic team performance in terrible conditions. On the night Kale and Sam Conyard produced some delightful football as Rovers booked their spot in the final. Big thanks to Newtown for the match.
